My name is Denise & I have created this blog to help inspire you to begin living the life you desire and deserve!

My purpose and mission are to share the benefits of incorporating positive thoughts and gratitude into your life. I want to help you take control of your thoughts and teach you tips to quiet the monkey chatter in your marvelous mind. I’ll help you begin replacing those old limiting thoughts with positive thoughts that will transform your life in the direction of your dreams.

What is the purpose of having a positive attitude or practicing gratitude?
For starters, amazing things begin to happen. Life becomes brighter and more meaningful. You begin searching for your purpose. All areas of your life improve when you begin to understand you and your thoughts.

Manifesting Your Dream Life

“You don’t manifest what you want, you manifest what you believe.”

Do you ever wonder how some people are living their dreams and visions while others are manifesting unwanted circumstances and are attracting all kinds of negativity into their lives?

What sets these two types of people apart? The answer is so simple yet so underestimated.

It’s our thoughts. Our thoughts are giving us our results in life. 

Now, this does not mean that our thoughts are creating cancer in a loved one, or a sudden death of a friend, but our overall thoughts are in charge of the results we are getting in our lives.

Have you ever woken up late for work or school? You jump out of bed and stub your toe on the nightstand or maybe spill coffee on your shirt? You get in your car and say “I’m going to be late” or  “Today’s going to be a bad day.” and without a doubt, you begin attracting more of the same.

Well, the same goes for positively starting your day. When you wake up and proclaim “Today is going to be the best day of my life,” your day begins positively, and you attract more good things.

It may sound hoaxy, but it’s a Law of the Universe. Like gravity.

“What we focus our attention on expands.”

Hmm? So how do you manifest your dream life?

You manifest your dream life by focussing all of your energy on what you want and give NO energy or thought to what you don’t want. You also spend time every day visualizing your desires and getting into the emotion of feeling your dreams as they are already here.

Think about your past for a moment. Can you remember focussing on something or a circumstance that ended up manifesting into your reality?

I’m sure we can all say we are aware of at least one thing that we visualized that came into our lives.

With that being said, the key to manifesting good stuff into your life is to stop focussing on lack, or why something can’t work out and start directing all of your energy and thoughts on what it is you want. Simple right?

It really is, and when you apply self-study your awareness expands, and this information begins to resonate.

Here’s to your dream life! You deserve it, and it’s waiting for you to show up.

Make a Shift

I’m feeling overwhelmed with gratitude today, and I thought I’d share a little shift that I made a few years back that has really changed my life in an amazing way.

So often we think and complain about things we have to do like the dishes, cleaning the bathroom, folding laundry, going to work.

One day I made a choice to switch the words “I have to” to “I get to.”

This change in perspective and gratitude has been incredible.

Think about it. This life is a gift. I have lost several young friends who will never have the chance again to say “I get to.”  You are blessed to be able to do things!!!

Ultimately, I believe all humans crave happiness and practicing gratitude and shifting your perspective will guarantee it.

10 Minute Yoga Practice for Self Care

Practicing self-love & care is vital for our well-being. This morning I want to share one of my favorite yoga videos that I use in my personal practice to recharge, recenter and refresh.

We all get overwhelmed at times, and it’s in those moments that we need to pause, find a quiet space and just breathe.

Check out Yoga With Adriene, she has some great videos on YouTube & she’s very supporting and relatable.

Let That Shiitake Go

“Let it go”, is it a cliche or is it possible?

I think it’s a little of both.
It’s much easier to tell someone to “let it go” than to be the one who has to do the work.

Here are my trusted tips on letting go…

  1. Sit quietly for a couple of minutes and take a few deep breaths.
    Now ask yourself if there is anything you can do to change what has happened.
    If it’s something someone did to you understand that we don’t always know why others do what they do, we can only control what we do and how we respond.
    You have the choice right now to choose to either allow this situation to control you or you can take control of your thoughts and accept what it is, learn from it, and move forward.
  2. Send the person or the situation love.
    You may have a confused look on your face and think I’ve totally lost my mind, so be it, send the love!
    Close your eyes and think of the person or situation and genuinely send love.
    At first, it’s a hard thing to practice & you’ll feel the urge to fight it (especially if all you want to do is smack the tard out of this person) but trust me this works much better for your well-being in the long run.
  3. Forgive, because it’s what’s best for you.
    There is so much freedom in forgiveness but it becomes a matter of you wanting to be free.
    The bondage and imprisonment of holding onto things that we can’t change nor have any control over are toxic to our minds and bodies.
    Do you want to be free? Are you tired of complaining about the same situation over and over again getting the exact same results?
    Do you want to stop going to the same movie in your head day after day?
    If so, radical forgiveness is the way out. If it’s a person that you need to forgive imagine them in your mind standing before you. Walk up to them and tell them you forgive them, give them a hug, and now ask them to forgive you.
    I know it sounds silly, but it’s also silly to allow things and people to rob us of our precious time here on earth. Be silly and forgive.
  4. Let That Shiitake Go!
    Shake it off, laugh it off, and move forward on your awesome journey.
    You are Gods highest form of creation. I believe everything we go through in our life is a lesson and every person we meet is a teacher. I personally am grateful for all of my hurts, I thank the hard times because they’ve made me who I am today and are helping others along the way.
  5. Replace the negative feeling and thought with gratitude.
    Whenever the hurt comes up in your mind immediately replace it with a positive thought. Think of something you are grateful for and write it down. Start a gratitude journal and begin focusing on the good in your life. No matter what you are going through, there is always something to be grateful for.

We Become What We Think About

What seeds are you planting into the garden of your mind?

In my yoga sessions, I often explain how our thoughts shape our reality. If you are continuously in a negative state of mind you’re not only preventing yourself from enjoying this gift of life, you can possibly be rushing to an early death.

Studies have proven that stress plays a huge factor in creating dis-ease in the body. Heart problems, anxiety, weight problems, cancers, digestive issues, and depression can all be linked back to our thoughts and mental well-being.

Change Your Thoughts And You Can Possibly Change Any Outcome

But How Do I Change My Thoughts?

Good question. Research suggests that we silly humans experience 50,000 to 70,000 thoughts per day. That fact alone can be hard to process.

You and I both know that most of our thoughts are repetitive. Some make sense, other thoughts make absolutely no sense at all.

WHY am I thinking this?
I bet you’ve asked yourself this at one time or another.

When you begin to understand the mind you learn that many of our thoughts are habitual and if you want to change the results in any given area of your life you must change the old habitual patterns of behavior.
This can be done successfully through a process called Paradigm Shift (I’ll touch on that in another post) but below are my trusted tips on turning a negative into a positive.

Here’s what I practice & preach…

Understanding that they are “just thoughts” and every thought can be changed, I immediately replace it with a positive thought.

Sound simple? It really is. It takes practice but I promise if you begin to become aware of your negative thoughts and quickly replace them with a positive thought, things will begin to shift in your life.

I usually use gratitude and prayer to turn my – into a + 🙂
